P-POD: Princeton Protein Orthology Database

About P-POD

This tool, developed by the Genome Databases Group at Princeton, displays families of predicted orthologs from P. falciparum, H. sapiens, D. melanogaster, M. musculus, A. thaliana, C. elegans, D. rerio, and S. cerevisiae with an emphasis on providing information about disease-related genes and experimental confirmation of orthology from the literature. Families of related sequences are generated using two different methods: OrthoMCL and Jaccard Clustering. Disease-related information and literature is collected from the OMIM database, the Saccharomcyes Genome Database (SGD). For more information, see the Help page.

All the data, database schema, and software are available for download here. For more information, please refer to the paper describing P-POD.

Option 2: Enter an OMIM ID and select the type of analysis:

·

Search tip: To find an OMIM ID that matches a disease of interest, you can 1) browse OMIM disease families from this analysis to find their OMIM IDs, or 2) search the OMIM database itself, which contains OMIM IDs that are in this database and many other OMIM IDs.
